Why we love the Inland Empire

The Inland Empire, also known as “The IE,” is an area east of L.A. that encompasses both Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The Inland Empire is surrounded by mountain ranges – the San Bernardino, Los Angeles, San Jacinto. The IE is maybe the only place in the country where you are 45 minutes away from great skiing and 45 minutes from the beach.

From Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake to the desert mountains and Joshua Tree National Park, the Inland Empire offers a variety of outdoor activities such as skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and biking for residents and visitors alike.

In addition, the cities in and around the greater Ontario area play host to some of the best extreme sports, quiet retreats and spas. Then there’s the ultimate shopping experience at Ontario Mills, SoCal’s only indoor outlet shopping mall. Or their annual “Cruisin Reunion”, one of the largest classical street fairs and classic car shows in the county, draws over 500,000 people each year.

And music lovers, Coachella is one of the largest outdoor music festivals in the world, bringing together performers and fans from all over the world. San Bernardino’s Glen Helen Amphitheater, the largest outdoor music venue in the US, hosts events from April through November.

According to the residents of the Inland Empire, the region has the best Mexican food outside of Mexico, and the fruit grown in the Inland Empire is simply the sweetest, from oranges and peaches to apricots and passion fruits.

For over two hundred years, people have been attracted to the natural beauty of the Inland Empire. With its rich history, natural attractions, and strong economy, it’s a great place to live and to start or own a business.

All the benefits of living in SoCal

What are some of the reasons to move to the Inland Empire? More open space, a feeling of community, more affordable real estate.  The area is seen as accessible and affordable for a young, diverse, and growing population with neighborhoods that are becoming increasingly more diverse.

People love living in the Inland Empire because it provides so many opportunities for things to do, whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast, music lover, have a need for speed, want to spend a Saturday wine-tasting in Temecula, or try your hand at gambling at one of the many tribal casinos in the IE.

Businesses are also attracted to the Inland Empire due to the lower cost of doing business there as well as a large pool of labor. The area leads SoCal’s expansion in industries including construction, warehouse distribution, and logistics.
